Common questions.
What is actually free?
The engine, all three renderers, every framework binding, the Admin UI, the MCP server, the grid, the map and the timeline. Also 26 charts, 8 algorithms and the standard layouts. It is free for commercial apps too. There is no expiry, no watermark and no node limit. You sign up to download it.
Can I use the free edition at work, or in an app I charge for?
Yes, in your own apps, websites and services, including paid ones. You cannot resell or redistribute the library itself. Selling software with Tessera Viz inside that others install or build on needs the OEM add-on. The Free Edition Licence has the details.
Is Tessera Viz open source?
No. The free edition is free to use, but its source code is not published.
What counts as one application?
One deployed product with one user-facing purpose. Its staging and development environments are part of it. A second product with a different purpose is a second licence — or move to Organization, which is unlimited.
Do end users need licences?
No. The licence covers the application, so both the developers building it and the people using it are unlimited.
Do you charge per developer?
No.
Is there a trial?
Yes: up to 31 days of every Pro and Enterprise feature, on your own machine.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer, against our invoice.
Can it export GraphML?
No — import only. The formats package ships parsers for Mermaid, DOT, GraphML and JSON, and writers for SVG, PNG, JSON, vector and paginated PDF, and PowerPoint. We would rather say that plainly than let you find out after buying.
Is it accessibility certified?
There is a complete, audit-ready WCAG 2.1 AA self-assessment, and third-party certification has deliberately not been done yet. We are not going to claim a certificate we do not hold.
